Four steps from draft to second draft
You bring the words. LyricMentor helps you see them more clearly.
Paste your draft
Add a lyric you have written yourself. Paste into the text box or upload a .txt file. A draft needs at least 20 words and can run to 5,000.
Choose a focus
Select what you want to examine. Pick one or several of the review lenses, and optionally add your genre, mood, audience or what you are unsure about.
Receive questions and observations
Get craft-focused feedback, not replacement words. You will see overall observations, highlighted passages, questions for you, and craft notes explaining why each issue matters.
Revise in your own words
Make the changes you choose, then export a checklist. Copy, download, print or email your revision checklist, then compare your drafts to see what changed.
LyricMentor never writes, completes, or rewrites lyrics. It helps you understand and improve the draft you have already created.
What you get back
Overall observations
Three to five concise, non-judgemental insights about the draft as a whole.
Highlighted passages
Short excerpts from your own draft, each with a reason it caught our attention and a question for you.
Questions for the writer
Five to eight open questions about what you intend and why you made the choices you did.
Revision checklist
Practical actions you may choose to take, described as decisions, never as wording.
Craft notes
A short explanation of why each lens matters, so you learn something for the next song.
Export options
Copy, download as .txt, print or save as PDF, or email the review to yourself.
