Built around your draft
LyricMentor reads the lyric you have written and gives you feedback you can act on. Here is how that works in practice.
You write the lyric. LyricMentor points out what is on the page and asks you questions about it.
LyricMentor is AI-assisted, not AI-generated. AI is used to read and analyse your draft, the way a well-read friend might. It is not used to produce lyrics.
Every review is built from your own draft: short quotes from it, questions about your choices, and a checklist of decisions to consider. Nothing is added to your lyric. There is no chat box and no rewrite button, so there is nothing to copy back in.
Four things we aim for
You decide
Each point is something to look at or a question to answer. What you change, and how, is up to you.
Specific feedback
Every review names the passage, says why it caught our attention, and asks something you can actually answer.
Private by default
No account is needed. Your draft is used only to produce your review, is not saved, and is not used to train models.
A second opinion, not a verdict
A review can spot patterns. It cannot know your intention, audience or voice, so disagree with it freely.
What happens to your draft
Every review passes through the same checks, in the same order.
- Your draftYou submit your lyric, the lenses you want and any optional notes.
- Request checkRequests to write, finish or rewrite lyrics are declined before a review starts.
- ReviewThe engine returns observations, questions and craft notes about your draft.
- Response checkOnly short quotes from your own draft are allowed through. Anything that reads as replacement wording is removed.
- YouQuestions and a checklist, ready to work through in your own words.
What it does and does not do
The help
What LyricMentor does
- Reads your draft and points out passages worth a second look.
- Asks questions about your intention and creative choices.
- Spots patterns in clarity, imagery, repetition, structure, perspective, emotional arc and clichés.
- Compares drafts you wrote and shows what changed.
- Gives you a checklist to work through in your own words.
Every word stays yours.
The line we don’t cross
What it will never do
- Write a line, hook, verse, chorus, bridge or title
- Finish an unfinished lyric or continue after your last line
- Offer alternative lines, replacement wording, rhymes or synonyms
- Rewrite, merge or “improve” your drafts
- Act as a chatbot or an AI co-writer
